Get ready to fly
To simplify & democratize payload hosting, we have developed a universal interface comparable to a « Space USB port ». As USB ports on computers, it enables us to plug any payload type indifferently while giving our users a known space to develop their payloads.
Retro-compatible with the CubeSat standard, it is yet highly modular and enables our users to design larger and heavier payloads.
We have even included a modular structure to hold your payload in “Space Containers” – an open-source standard that we are progressively releasing and that you will find introduced in our Users’ Guide.

Wheere selects SpaceLocker to begin its space journey and redefine global satellite positioning
Wheere, the French startup behind breakthrough indoor positioning technology, has chosen SpaceLocker to carry its inaugural demo mission into orbit. This strategic collaboration marks Wheere’s bold step from sub‑surface precision to space‑based innovation—and sets a new trajectory for global positioning technology. Founded in 2021, Wheere has already revolutionized indoor geolocation with sub‑meter accuracy using low‑frequency signals and proprietary algorithms. Having deployed its system in hospitals, industrial sites, tunnels, and even during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Wheere brings its proven expertise to a new frontier: space. Using SpaceLocker’s hosted payload services, Wheere will demonstrate its positioning technology in Low Earth Orbit. This first-of-its-kind orbital demo aims to validate Wheere performance beyond terrestrial environments and pave the way for the deployment of its LEO PNT (Positioning Navigation & Timing) Constellation set to lift off in the coming years to provide global high precision positioning. “This first flight is the beginning of a new and long-awaited journey for Wheere – Our solution is already well adopted by industrial players through our ground relays, and now we’re heading for the stars to increase our coverage!” said Pierre-Arnaud Coquelin, Co‑Founder & CEO of Wheere. “Shifting from ground emitters to a space-based infrastructure is an…
Lift-off of Hitchhiker 1 !
The first mission of SpaceLocker just reached orbit hosted by D-Orbit onboard a SpaceX flight A new chapter in our journey has begun! SpaceLocker is proud to announce that our very first mission, Hitchhiker 1, has successfully reached orbit. Hosted by D-Orbit and launched aboard a SpaceX flight, this milestone represents not only a breakthrough for our company but also a giant leap toward democratizing access to space. What is Hitchhiker 1? Hitchhiker 1 is the inaugural mission of SpaceLocker, showcasing our vision of shared satellite infrastructure and hosted payload services. This mission demonstrates our ability to provide an affordable and efficient platform for customers to test, validate, and operate their technologies in orbit without the complexity of developing a dedicated satellite. Designed and developed in under 3 months, Hitchhiker 1 enables 3 pioneering companies to test their innovative technologies in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), emphasizing rapid deployment and reduced barriers to entry. This mission is hosted onboard ION, a vehicle by D-Orbit, a leader in in-space logistics, launched by SpaceX, and their reliable Falcon 9 - a typical industrial scheme for SpaceLocker missions picturing well the ecosystem builder role of the company. Why This Mission Matters Hitchhiker 1 is…
SpaceLocker’s second mission to orbit : Hitchhiker 2
SpaceLocker and UARX Space Collaborate to Launch Hosted Payload Services on OSSIE SpaceLocker, a French shared satellite operator, and UARX Space, a Spanish spacecraft manufacturer, have announced a strategic partnership to offer hosted payload services aboard UARX’s OSSIE space vehicle. This collaboration, unveiled on October 15, 2024, marks a significant step toward making space missions more accessible and efficient by utilizing SpaceLocker’s universal space port technology. Accelerating Access to Space As the space economy continues to expand rapidly, shared space missions are emerging as a key solution to make orbits more accessible. SpaceLocker and UARX Space aim to streamline the process by simplifying mission engineering and operational logistics. By 2025, customers will be able to integrate their payloads using SpaceLocker’s containers, based on a universal standard. This integration will ensure quicker and easier deployment, with three missions already scheduled before the end of 2025. Innovative Use of OSSIE Vehicle The OSSIE (Orbit Solutions to Simplify Injection and Exploration) vehicle, developed by UARX, will serve as the platform for these missions. Set to launch in June 2025, OSSIE has already secured customers across three continents, with payloads ranging from pocketqubes to small satellites. The vehicle will also carry various In-Orbit Demonstrations…
